Why this one is on the page already

It is here because I intend to learn it, and a Skill with a status of planned is a commitment rather than an absence. Nothing below is measured yet, and the panel says so instead of filling the space with a number.

Why it looks nothing like Japanese

Japanese has an automated source: the WaniKani API reports a level, so its Stats are figures read out of an append-only Check-in log. Tamil has no such service. There is no graded level system for it that anyone I know uses, so there is nothing to read off a screen and report honestly.

So the Stats here are text, written by hand, and mostly say what is not there yet. When real Check-ins start landing in the log, the same three Stats gain history, with no change of shape, because a figure is never written down twice.

What I will not do

No invented streak, no percentage of a syllabus I have not decided on, and no number that moves because I typed it. If the honest figure is “nothing yet”, the panel says “nothing yet”.
