I studied this at Max Mueller Bhavan in Pune, working up through the A1, A2 and B1 courses. The courses were really fun and interactive, and I suspect a good deal of the progress is down to that.
I started somewhere around 2018 or 2019 and could not tell you today which. What it bought me is real enough. I can form basic sentences, I read well enough to get through a page, and I mostly follow ordinary conversation without much trouble.
What I still can’t do is sit down with an actual book. My vocabulary isn’t good for the real world, and I’d want a dictionary next to me and more than one reference before I got through it. So the gap is words in context, which is the part that keeps slipping.
None of it is being worked on at the moment.
